for this week’s friday finds, i thought i’d round up a few ideas for all this homesteading we’re doing right now. i’m trying to embrace the slow life, like i mentioned earlier this week and bringing a little bit of the outdoors inside to help me keep sane and connected to nature. i hope you’re all hanging in there alright. if you’ve got any tips for keeping our wits about us right now, please do share! i also found this video from italy very interesting food for thought.

- i’ve been thinking as the weather warms up and we’re still stuck at home, it might be nice to set up a cozy makeshift tent and sleep outdoors in my backyard. i’m just going to grab some old sheets and quilts a couple of lanterns and sleep under the stars. why not, right?
- what kinds of things are you missing right now? one of my favorite weekend rituals is the small farmer’s market we have here in laguna. i really miss seeing my regular vendors and getting all that glorious, fresh produce and baked bread to go. this beautiful image by @issycroker really captured that special place for me — i can’t wait to return.
- since we’re not able to take our market baskets to the flea and farmer’s markets right now, how about putting them to work in another way? they look really great hanging on your walls and are clever and cute organizing tools, too. i stash tea towels and linen napkins in mine. food52 is a really good resource for all kinds of french market totes should you need a few.
- is it possible for you to find a small nook in your home and make it your own little hideaway? Jeska Hearne of the charming housewares shop The Future Kept has created this cozy outdoor shed for herself. gosh, even it’s just a small corner somewhere private to relax, meditate and read, it seems like an awfully comforting idea right now.
- this gorgeous simon watson portrait reminds me that it always helps me feel better if i tidy myself up around the house — shower, a touch of makeup and put on something that makes me feel good about myself — something super chic like this striped caftan. one of my favorites (i have at least three) is emerson fry’s cute caftan. it’s comfy but looks good, too.
- this brooklyn home tour on milk decoration magazine is a really fun and quirky look at this creative couple’s charming and very whimsical home. i really thought the message in their bathroom mirror felt relevant right now, too — everything’s gonna be super duper.
- since we may have some free time on our hands, what better time to style up our kitchen shelving? i love the look of the founder of decor brand Caravane, Françoise Dorget’s Parisian apartment. she’s brought all her black ceramics to the forefront of her kitchen and it looks simply smashing. etsy is one of my go-to online resources for all kinds of beautiful vintage ceramics if you’re on the hunt.
- it’s the ideal time to nurture your inner green thumb and get those house plants living their best life. i love this sweet little dining room nook photographed by herz and blut for plant tribe, the new and very inspiring book about living with plants from ‘urban junglers’ Igor Josifovic and Judith De Graaff.
